The School Day
The school day starts at 8:40 am and finishes at 3.00pm.
Registration is from 8:40 a.m. to 8:50 am. We have currently extended this to allow a longer window and hopefully avoid queues. Classroom doors open at 8:30 am and will close promptly at 9:00 am.
Drop off and collection
Children must be supervised at all times by a parent or carer and enter the school via their external class door. Children should be collected from their door at the end of the day unless they are attending an after school club. If for any reason you are unavoidably detained, please inform us and your child will be asked to wait at the school office.
Arrivals after 9:00 am must go to the main reception where you will be asked the reason for late arrival. Regular late arrival or collection will result in a meeting to agree an action plan to support improvement.
There is an hour for lunch:
11:30 to 12:30 in Year 2
12:00 to 1:00 in Year 1
12:25 to 1:25 in Reception
11:20 to 12:20 in Nursery
The Daily Kilometre
Each day the children take part in The Daily kilometre, this is a national event where in the children run or jog – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. Children can occasionally walk to catch their breath, if necessary, but should aim to run or jog for the full 15 minutes.
KS1 have an assembly each week to celebrate positive learning values and another to sing collectively. At both of these there is an opportunity for collective reflection on a moral, spiritual or related subject. On occasion visitors from different religious faiths and denominations come and share assemblies with the children. We use these assemblies as an opportunity to explore religious festivals from a wide range of religions, moral choices, British Values and ways in which we can inspire our children to reach their full potential.
On days when there is no year group or whole school assembly each class allocates time to discuss and reflect on a relevant issue.
